Frame sizes for modern H.264 are highly misleading and I recommend not to use them. Why? The frame size is a function of a number of different factors (even beside the obvious one of resolution / pixel count). They include: Average Frame Size: KB: Number of Cameras: Frame Rate per Camera: FPS Hours of Motion: Hours a Day: Storage in Days (per camera): Total Bandwidth: Average Bandwidth per Camera: Estimated Storage: Notes: 30/25 FPS applies to D1, 720P, 1080P and 1.3MP B-frame size prediction to be close to P-frame size prediction and as such a similar model can be used. 3.2 Group of pictures The H.264 standard de nes the group of pictures (GOP) as the number of frames between two consecutive I-frames.
